高吉貿易由黃學長的哥哥黃金生先生白手創業，成立於民國81年，是東和鋼鐵、中鋼、豐興鋼鐵等大型鋼鐵廠的主要經銷商之一，更是國內最大鋼鐵材料庫存商與經銷商之一。創業過程雖艱難險阻，但更令人為之動容的是黃學長與哥哥兄弟情誼的故事，讓一間充滿剛性的鋼鐵公司，注入一股溫柔的力量。
2024年1月至四月分別進口1711噸，18361噸，44999噸，46174噸前四個月進口12.665萬噸年化約為38萬噸，破歷史新高。
2018年鋼結構配件進口量僅5.18萬噸，2019年加倍至11.43萬噸，2020年有加倍至28.25萬噸，2021年23.89萬噸，2022年更達31.51萬噸，2023年回落至16.5萬噸，2024年粗估可能破紀錄達38萬噸。
2019年底疫情爆發接著二三年疫情延續離岸風電工程進度延宕被罰款上億元，於是大量進口鋼結構配件，但今年前四個月仍爆量。
鋼結構產品今年進口量大增，據統計前四月進口量高達12.66萬噸，創下近五年新高，其中從越南進口的數量暴增近5倍最誇張，且有洗產地之虞，恐對國內業者造成衝擊
